UK Darfur Diplomacy

The UK must be basking in glory after the successful diplomatic effort that led to the release of their navy crew.

So Blaire thinks he can transfer that type of diplomacy to Sudan and Darfur. I give that a long shot, but is it worth the try? I guess so.

"relentless bloodshed in Darfur - have prompted the U.S. and U.K. to call for tougher action against Sudan"

I like how that is written so it implies that the US and UK are actually doing something about Darfur while not doing a damn thing in actuality. "Tougher action", this is the rhetoric of inactivity and a cop out for Western nations that allows them to alleviate themselves of guilt by telling themselves that by putting out these harsh words they're actually doing something.

What a load of crap.

I believe all options should be left open. Whatever rhetoric the world leaders use, what counts in the end is how it measures on the poor people on the ground.
